How the poor live

One day, a father of a very wealthy family took his son on a trip to the country with the firm purpose of showing his son how poor people live. They spent a couple of days and nights on the farm of what would be considered a very poor family. On their return from their trip, the father asked his son, “How was the trip?”

“It was great, Dad.”

“Did you see how poor people live?” the father asked.

“Oh yeah,” said the son.

“So, tell me, what did you learn from the trip?” asked the father.

The son answered, “I saw that we have one dog and they had four. We have a pool that reaches to the middle of our garden, and they have a creek that has no end. We have imported lanterns in our garden, and they have the stars at night. Our patio reaches to the front yard, and they have the whole horizon. We have a small piece of land to live on, and they have fields that go beyond our sight. We have servants who serve us, but they serve others. We buy our food, but they grow theirs. We have walls around our property to protect us; they have friends to protect them.”

The boy’s father was speechless.

Then his son added, “Thanks, Dad, for showing me how poor we are.”

Samanta, are you on drugs? Learn not to spoil the mood of people who have a heart for a good story. Apart from that, money can’t buy the treasures of life.

I reed many stories after this one trying to find the perfect one for a presentation and only to realized that i have come rite back to how the poor live. This message is such an inspirational and funny one because whats one treasure is, is a next one live and what is someone live is someone treasure. It’s funny because it goes to show happiness is not all in money and i sure when one fines the story funny is not, ‘literally.’

  • Abhishek Pani February 17, 2012, 3:42 am

In fact this is a touching story. This story completely goes in line with my way of thinking. I really love such stories.

  • Charles February 6, 2012, 1:08 pm

Really disgusting story that tells one of the biggest lies imaginable, that poor people’s lives aren’t that hard. You should be ashamed of yourself for posting this dishonest and completely asinine story. Non-poor people love it because it claims poor people ‘s lives are just like ours, and thus absolves them of any responsibility to help.

  • Fxcityglobal February 4, 2012, 4:46 am

Nice story. A different prospective to the see the world. It’s our choice how we see the world around us. lets see it in a positive way.

This pierce teaches me how we ppl like to limit ourselves. God gave us the world to live at, we created borders, visa, passports, all these are limitations. THE TIME OF PASSWORD… The will come where a password will be required to enter a church, and we call it advance, I call it limitation…
