The story of a blind girl   105 comments

Posted at 5:24 pm in Moral stories

There was a blind girl who hated herself just because she’s blind. She hated everyone, except her loving boyfriend. He’s always there for her. She said that if she could only see the world, she would marry her boyfriend.

One day, someone donated a pair of eyes to her and then she can see everything, including her boyfriend. Her boyfriend asked her, “now that you can see the world, will you marry me?” The girl was shocked when she saw that her boyfriend is blind too, and refused to marry him. Her boyfriend walked away in tears, and later wrote a letter to her saying. “Just take care of my eyes dear.”

This is how human brain changes when the status changed.

Only few remember what life was before, and who’s always been there even in the most painful situations.

Life is A Gift.

Today before you think of saying an unkind word – Think of someone who can’t speak.

Before you complain about the taste of your food – Think of someone who has nothing to eat.

Before you complain about your husband or wife – Think of someone ho’s crying out for a companion.

Today before you complain about life – Think of someone who went too early to heaven/hell.

Before you complain about your children – Think of someone who desires children but they’re barren.

Before you argue about your dirty house, someone didn’t clean or sweep – Think of the people who are living in the streets.

Before whining about the distance you drive – Think of someone who walks the same distance with their feet.

And when you are tired and complain about your job – Think of the unemployed, the disabled and those who wished they had your job.

But before you think of pointing the finger or condemning another – Remember that not one of us are without sin and we all answer to one maker.

And when depressing thoughts seem to get you down – Put a smile on your face and thank — you’re alive and still around

Life is a gift – Live it, Enjoy it, Celebrate it, And Fulfill it.

how does he walk away in tears without eyes??

  2. Ace -- 6 Dec 08 at 3:04 pm

    LOL!!
Thats a nice question!! plus how did he write the letter??

  3. Andra -- 9 Dec 08 at 2:29 am

well, Eric, people do cry even if they can’t see! Tears have nothing to do with sightness! ( http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20061018072949AAzPkAV – u have here another link where you can see how the eye functions)

and Ace… as he was not born blind he knows how to write like seeing people! so it’s not impossible, harder maybe but not impossible!;) (http://www.blindawareness.com/spreadingtheword/blindfaq.php – look at the question about writing their names and signing documents).

    take care! ;)

It is very very touching and real inspiring stories giving value of each thing mentioned.

    thanks….

I think the story has a wrong moral: the two should develope themselves in the same direction and not in the opposite directions. The blind can see now and the other lost his eyssight. Did he discusse his intention with her first before he made the donation? Does he has the right to put the life of the girl in the way he wants to without telling her his intention? What he wants is to make the girl his wife, not to make her happy to spend her life with a blind man. If she didn´t even know that he was not blind, I wonder if they had the basis of communication. The eyesight is only a symbol of our abilities. You can give someone the eyes, the legs, the money, but not the ability to us them well.

  6. Julene -- 26 Jan 09 at 8:40 am

Why didn’t he just give her one eye?

And can you really blame her? Who wants to be with someone who is always giving them the eye?

  7. babiicute3 -- 6 Feb 09 at 9:57 pm

    Thats just sad and touching.
    I wanted to cry…
I feel sorry for the boy.
    I understand how he feels..

  8. pooja -- 14 Feb 09 at 5:07 am

    !!!!!!!!!!!! EXCELLENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  9. Amina -- 20 Feb 09 at 8:46 am

That was a really good story is this true?

  10. Bhati -- 9 Mar 09 at 6:45 am

Really its a very nice and heart touching story. but according to this time situation we cannot trust on girls specially. they always looks towards good things, they try to copy each-others, they dont want a good hearted Partner, but expect good looking and rich partner to enjoy her life……… the moral of the story is not…that she left him bt is that NEVER TRUST ON GIRLS IF U REALLY WANT TO B HAPPY IN YOUR LIFE.

  11. Vikki -- 10 Mar 09 at 7:56 pm

I like the story very much. I was just so sad about the boy who gave his eyes to her. He should have told her in the first place. Communication is really very important in any relationship.

  12. Vijay -- 1 Apr 09 at 9:03 am

Andra you are right, m impressed. its for those who read only but don’t feel. Great…………

And I urge all true lovers that sacrfices & help should be done after marriage.

I think the title of the story should be “How I Live Now”

  13. Apoorva Rashmi -- 6 Apr 09 at 4:00 am

it’s really a nice story….it shows how da mentalitty of the people changes according to the satuvations….

  14. Arnab -- 21 Apr 09 at 2:37 pm

fantastic and heart touching story…..it shows the real meaning of life….we have to learn a lot from this story

  15. Grub -- 26 Apr 09 at 1:01 am

Really Bhati, you are just misogynistic and sick in the mind. “Never trust on girls”…. fucking idiot. Who’s there to care for the children if not for the mother or sister. What if I say guys have nothing to show for but only to swing their dicks about and trumpet “Never trust on girls”. Ladies, see what some of us have to live with– utter tools; whilst they crawl about earth, waging war on each other, practise corruption.

  16. lina -- 26 Apr 09 at 11:40 am

i think the girl she have 2 dieeeeeeeeeeeeeee

she have 2 be in hell

  17. Burns.R -- 29 Apr 09 at 9:18 pm

Grub, your comment was a ridiculous 19th Century view and I was ashamed to think that there are ignorant people such as you still living in the world today (and would I be correct in presuming America not Scotland?). You have unfairly labelled the entire male species on the basis that you have had… (my estimate is four) bad relationships with men. Have you ever thought the problem may lay with you and not mankind? You have implied that no woman has ever given in to comsumerism, or made an unforgivable remark, you imply that men cannot perform tasks as aptly as women, and let me tell you lass, you’re leading yourself down the rabbit hole because it is presisely these views you’ve just mentioned that keep advertisers pressing these small truths on you. You will never be truly free from these small ideas that you expect until you learn not to expect them.
And besides which, Bhati was right in one respect, this girl was certainly not to be trusted, and I assume that his response had as much to do with the women s/he has been involved with as yours has to do with the men.
The story itself leaves a fair bit to be desired although I hope that it does cause people to think about the things they do as needless hurt occurs seemingly everywhere these days…

  18. Lilly -- 15 May 09 at 3:34 pm

That is really sad, I just got it in a forward. But at the same I agree with “normal person”. I just feel kind of sorry for him, was this a true story? Well that was true love, he wanted to have her love forever, he wanted to try to make her life better, but instead he got rejected just because he was blind.
    Take care,
    Lilly

  19. Hamed -- 6 Jun 09 at 4:39 am

  20. seba -- 18 Sep 09 at 11:23 am

It is really a living story. I congratulate the thoughts of the author. Before we could commend on the story let us place ourselves in the place of these two characters. I just can’t criticize any of them for this because they have conscience. My tears r falling for the boy. Thanks 4 the story.

  21. eyza -- 27 Sep 09 at 4:25 am

Great words about life THANKS a lot to give the good words

  27. Tarun (Dev) -- 17 Nov 09 at 3:02 am

Girls are used to for this kind of behaviour, but here the boy is in fault as he has not dared to share the things with girls. Any ways its a beautiful moral where we should learn that not to forget the person from where you got love affection and care, this is costless………..

  28. praveen -- 26 Nov 09 at 1:33 am

it is difinetly true that if u speak any thing u must think of it ……..

  29. rem -- 27 Nov 09 at 12:02 am

That is a good story, it only shows that not everything you wanted will be given to you, why do always people focus on good things??? There should always consequences in everything we do…

  30. ayesha -- 29 Nov 09 at 5:15 am

its a good story but no one should love a blind

  31. munesh -- 6 Dec 09 at 2:05 pm

it a thoughful & sad story but all that spice up or make up life

  32. Sathyam -- 19 Dec 09 at 11:28 pm

This was truly a work soaked in compassion and rich in love.

I’m sad that some of the commenters did not understand the real meaning of the story which was: ” We can give without loving but we can never love without giving…”

May God bless The Team Who Had The Enlightened Vision Of Helping People To Find Their Answers Through Such Beautiful And Motivated Stories.

    It’s just our life.
Live it, Enjoy it, Celebrate it, And Fulfill it.

  34. carolyn -- 23 Dec 09 at 11:19 am

Love is supposed to be unconditional and as far as I am concerned neither the boyfriend or the girlfriend in he story is acting in an unconditional way.

  35. Ayush -- 28 Dec 09 at 1:48 pm

The girl never loved him, when she need him then she used him. The boy should send the bomb with letter.

  36. Ajay Tripathi -- 30 Dec 09 at 3:48 am

It is a very good story..ever read..Guys now i understand why our elders says this “Love is Blind”…Love never see good or bad..ups and down..ugly and beauty

  37. KAMRAN -- 30 Dec 09 at 7:34 am

AYUSH……IT WAS THE DECISION OF A BOY TO GIVE HER, HIS EYES …….AND IF HE WANTED HE COULD LEAVE HER BLIND AND FIND ANOTHER PRETTY GIRL …..BUT HE LOVED HER …… AND IN LOVE BODY PARTS DOESN’T MATTER ….LOVE IS NAME OF SACRIFICE ……..AND ANDRA YOU DID WELL TO ANSWER THOSE TWO FOOLS …….. TAKE CARE

  39. Thomas -- 8 Jan 10 at 11:41 am

He got someone else to write it? Like huh?! He delegated it, out-sourced or remembered how to write it. Remember he could see before. Anyhow, enough with trivialities. It just a story.

As truly said by someone, anything we have is worth a chicken broughtup at home. So we shoul appreciate our near and dear ones.

Blind people can cry…. thier are people who become blind becuase they cry thier eyes out.

    http://www.healthyeyes.org.uk/index.php?id=16

-this well explain to you how human eyes work.

  42. Meg -- 11 Jan 10 at 8:10 pm

This is an amazing short story. But why are the people on here fighting about men and women? Honestly you all have get over this fight. “LIFE IS A GIFT” Thats the moral of the story, so stop fighting and making other people’s lives harder. The point of this story is to love life and not blame it on different genders and cultures and countries. Also people talking about blind people being unlovable. They’re still people they just can’t see. that doesn’t stop them from love. So please stop fighting about nothing.

  43. Shanin -- 13 Jan 10 at 11:00 am

how dare she said that to her boyfriend? she didn’t care?
    what’s a nice story…

  44. Bob -- 15 Jan 10 at 11:24 am

You don’t cry through your eyes but through the tear glands underneath your eyes.

  45. Moses.I -- 22 Jan 10 at 4:41 pm

A good story but bad feeling. I request everyone not to fight upon gender, instead be kind and like each other.

  46. rosey -- 24 Jan 10 at 11:40 am

Outstanding stories and the moral too

  47. ch muneendra babu -- 27 Jan 10 at 12:31 am

a powerful story on human relations and about selfless love. Human relations are full of paradigm shifts and blessed are those who elicit unconditinal love. The man lost eyes but gained loss of fake girl.

  48. SB -- 29 Jan 10 at 10:18 am

why do girls alwayse leave boy the boy whom love her lot , it hurts me lot ,

  49. assen -- 30 Jan 10 at 10:33 am

    The conclusion is:
If U are not able to love all people and don’t feel compassion to their suffering, U are not able to love anyone including your “beloved” one.
My personal experience prove it cos, I never had good relation with girls with cold, ignorant hearts.
This point of view only show undeveloped personality between 6-10 years in ages:)
My advise: If u met someone like this just run away ASAP.
    He will not change ever!

we watched this in our religion class…. I LOVE IT!

  55. Nandish -- 2 Mar 10 at 3:52 pm

i personally feel that its a dumb story.. The guy when he was not blind and was with the girl would have definately did not act blind and the girl knew that he was not blind. When the girl got his eyes although the guy had not told that it was his eyes she had was she DUMB to not notice that he has lost his eyes nd something is wrong.. Totally dumb story,,

  56. krishna -- 4 Mar 10 at 7:24 am

yes its good everybody should think upon themselves before and after one stage

  57. krishna -- 4 Mar 10 at 7:26 am

    great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  58. TySawn -- 11 Mar 10 at 10:46 pm

    <<@ Nandish:
Your comment did not make sense. The girl was blind, so how could she know what her boyfriend looked like? Plus, the guy got blind AFTER he gave her HIS eyes so now the girl could see, and what was the result of losing his eyes to his love?
BEING BLIND (cause now he has no eyes…of course…)
Also, She rejected HIM…the letter came after the rejection as it is clearly told in the story. At that point, she must've realized that her loving boyfriend was the one who sacrificed his ability to see so that SHE could be the one looking out in the world.
Altogether, this story is very emotional, as my best friend (Anonymous) is blind. Very 100% from the heart, Very True

  59. Alv -- 15 Mar 10 at 3:49 am

That girl is stupid, that why she does that… and maybe she thinks that other rich guy would like her… she never knows how to appreciate other people gifts…
Life is just like a game… we have to face every challenger of life… but once we lost, never-ever can repeat our life time just like we restarting the game.

  60. sharon -- 16 Mar 10 at 9:11 am

It really touched my heart and I would like to follow this 10 points which proved that ”life is a gift” by everyone in this world thank u so much.

  61. Harikesh -- 18 Mar 10 at 7:09 am

This is not called the real love. They both were only friends. Love can not be Selfish. The girl failed in friendship too.

  62. TKN -- 18 Mar 10 at 8:12 am

… a touching story… We have to look back and think of our life… What did we do for us and for others???
We should learn to appreciate everything in our daily life…
    Everything is changing…
    Thank life…

  63. Abinash -- 6 Apr 10 at 8:42 pm

Really it’s a heart touching story, but there are a very few people who really sacrifice for the sake of others, we need to learn to sacrifice from the story..

  64. Okasthe Kalidas -- 7 Apr 10 at 6:24 am

I know this is not a real story. Thank god.

I was completely shattered. Really wonder if such things are possible. After reading N number of morals I think we have to love what we have and not judge others. Are we perfect to ridicule others. I sure know we are not.

  73. Umay -- 13 Apr 10 at 9:37 pm

this is a good story and i love it

  74. Sarah -- 14 Apr 10 at 10:12 am

Here is how the real story goes

    There was
a blind girl who hated herself because she was blind. She
hated everyone, except her loving boyfriend. He was always
there for her. She told her boyfriend, ‘If I could only see
the world, I will marry you.’

    One day,
someone donated a pair of eyes to her. When the bandages
came off, she was able to see everything, including her
    boyfriend.

    He asked
her, ‘Now that you can see the world, will you marry me?’ The
girl looked at her boyfriend and saw that he was blind. The
sight of his closed eyelids shocked her. She hadn’t expected
that. The thought of looking at them the rest of her life
led her to refuse to marry him.

    Her
boyfriend left in tears and days later wrote a note to her
saying: ‘Take good care of your eyes, my dear, for before
they were yours, they were mine.’

  75. sha -- 20 Apr 10 at 8:54 am

A very touching story… i got inspired from that really its too nice.. feel crying… Oh my god, live our remaining days with fun and love.

  76. Manish Srivastava -- 21 Apr 10 at 4:37 am

I will only say that human being nature is as the girl of your story. This may be even seen in the comments of some people above. They didn’t think about moral of the story they are bothered about possibilities. i.e. maximum people think and see through eyes and not through their heart.
And the boy of this story thought opposite of we human beings. We people say such person mad, but he also knows what people will say of him but then also he does.

  77. tamasha -- 25 Apr 10 at 2:42 pm

Yea I understand that, see what he did was giving her his eyes and she left with them not saying TY and not even accept the proposal. When you look at what people have done for you, you turn your back on that person, never do that because it repeats. So don’t be selfish, learn how to mean things and live what you said you were going to do. Selfishness is not the case so think about it. Don’t ever do what she did because life goes around and comes back.

  78. jono123 -- 27 Apr 10 at 1:52 pm

What an act of complete selflessness. In most cases anyone giving away any object is a remarkable act of kindness. Giving away something so personal to an individual like your own eyes…. it is a manifestation of gods eternal love which we should be sharing with one another. What an example of absolute faith. Performing an act not knowing the outcome. Absolute faith.
Remarkable. I think many could walk away after reading this with much affliction of some sort.

  79. Manu krishna -- 30 Apr 10 at 10:07 pm

As a story it has pathos and bathos. It had to be written as given but to be totally realistic the guy could have given up one eye not two. Both of them could see fairly well with one eye. True there are problems but one eye is enough. BUT then you have no story. AND lucky you I would not be writting this missive. I have one question, would the girl spurn her lover if he only had one eye? If she did I would be heartily dissappointed. BUT WE WILL NEVER KNOW.

    Touching story! Good one!
But utter foolishness of the boy to trust the girl! Should have discussed with her and given one eye only!

its really a nice story and the true fact that very few people remember the curse which was done on them by someone but we all should remember one thing that if we do wrong with anyone the god is seeing us and writing it in his notebook and we definitely gets the reward of it one day so think before you speak and than do

nia – i think that her boyfriend just loved her and i think he thought that she loved him back because of what she said before about marriage with him i think that it was the girl who was foolish , she let go of someone who was selfless and understanding and loyal . i think that the girl was ungrateful too because apparently she threw away her perfectly good future in favour of an eye . now i know that eyes are important -they are my life really. but the poor boy thought he could get married to her and well -love is blind !!!!!

they say dat lov is blind but in dis case it was absolutely blind.
The boy loved d girl despite of her blindness BUT WHEN D GIRL WAS GIVEN D GIFT OF EYES ON REALISING dat her boyfriend was blind left him in his miserable condition forgetin dat 1ce upon a time she was blind too. The boy’s lov 4 d girl really sparkled through his selflessness

She is like an example for selfish people who just like themselves but the boy was the right example for people who love others from their deeps, I mean the real love and I always think that a true love can never be and this short story which carry so many meanings made me believe that more.

THe story teaches us never to come to conclusions in haste ans to show understanding and compassion during others difficult times. Moreover one must never forget the past…Good story and perfect end as it helped us learn from it.

it`s a moral story about humans… we are capable of such incredible cruelty, evil etc.(represented by the girl) and also capable of great love, compassion etc.(represented by the boy). it can have many “translations”, but in the end it`s about our human nature…
