My mom only had one eye

My mom only had one eye. I hated her… She was such an embarrassment. She cooked for students and teachers to support the family.

There was this one day during elementary school where my mom came to say hello to me. I was so embarrassed.

How could she do this to me? I ignored her, threw her a hateful look and ran out. The next day at school one of my classmates said, “EEEE, your mom only has one eye!”

I wanted to bury myself. I also wanted my mom to just disappear. I confronted her that day and said, “If you’re only gonna make me a laughing stock, why don’t you just die?”

My mom did not respond… I didn’t even stop to think for a second about what I had said, because I was full of anger. I was oblivious to her feelings.

I wanted out of that house, and have nothing to do with her. So I studied real hard, got a chance to go abroad to study.

Then, I got married. I bought a house of my own. I had kids of my own. I was happy with my life, my kids and the comforts. Then one day, my Mother came to visit me. She hadn’t seen me in years and she didn’t even meet her grandchildren.

When she stood by the door, my children laughed at her, and I yelled at her for coming over uninvited. I screamed at her, “How dare you come to my house and scare my children! GET OUT OF HERE! NOW!!!”

And to this, my mother quietly answered, “Oh, I’m so sorry. I may have gotten the wrong address.” – and she disappeared out of sight.

One day, a letter regarding a school reunion came to my house. So I lied to my wife that I was going on a business trip. After the reunion, I went to the old shack just out of curiosity.

My neighbors said that she died. I did not shed a single tear. They handed me a letter that she had wanted me to have.

“My dearest son,

I think of you all the time. I’m sorry that I came to your house and scared your children.

I was so glad when I heard you were coming for the reunion. But I may not be able to even get out of bed to see you. I’m sorry that I was a constant embarrassment to you when you were growing up.

You see……..when you were very little, you got into an accident, and lost your eye. As a mother, I couldn’t stand watching you having to grow up with one eye. So I gave you mine.

I was so proud of my son who was seeing a whole new world for me, in my place, with that eye.

With all my love to you,

Your mother.”

If this is a true story then it is so sad and I feel awful for that poor woman, but I think its hard to believe! He would know if he had had an op and he would have had eye appointments through out his life, And when he left surely she would have told him as I would do anything to keep my son with me, If I am wrong sorry but its just hard to believe.

It can be so great and also stuffed with a great time for me personally and my office co-workers to visit your website on the least thrice in one week to study the newest guides you have. Not to mention, I’m also at all times motivated with all the surprising concepts you serve. Selected 3 areas in this posting are rather the very best we’ve ever had.

  • Grace October 19, 2012, 11:48 pm

Look everybody, I see how we all know that the son does not deserve his mothers undeserved unconditional, unending love. But can you not see that this is the representation of mankind?

Look at our history… not something to be proud of, mankind deserves to be wiped out, no matter how good we think we are, but God loves us anyway, he gave such a sacrifice, put his Son on the cross to die mocked, shamed, just so we wouldn’t have to.

So all those nasty comments on the son you guys make, are they not insults to mankind as well? We don’t deserve to be loved, cared for, showered with favor, but we are anyway.

Please let it be a lesson. The horrible son IS you and me, so love Jesus, He gave everything for us, He took the curse.

So live without fear. Know life IS worth living for. Do not fear death, it’s just a stage to awesomeness for eternity (yes I said awesomeness, I’m not TOTALLY sappy) death has been conquered for you and me.

I feel sorry for the son, for mankind, just know Gods sacrifice was not in vain, neither was the mother’s. I just pray the son will cherish his mothers kindness, cause she’s still watching him.

In case of some freak accident that “the son” is reading this, know I don’t hate you, I’m not going to swear on you or anything, just promise it’s not too late, don’t sit, regretting everything you’ve done. The best thing you can do is embrace those memories of kindness, be happy, it’s what your mother would want, what she gave up is for you to be happy, don’t let her sacrifice cause you sorrow.

You don’t deserve her love, yet it is given unconditionally (that goes to you too mankind).

Live with happiness fellow peeps of awesomeness.

    Peaceout

  • Grace September 14, 2012, 10:36 pm

I was so touched I just kept crying, which almost never happens because I’m supposed to be the toughest of my family, but I always feel so much sadness inside, hoping people like that would change. I just pray that at least everyone will have some kindness in their hearts like the mother in the story. I’m even crying now and it’s almost embarrassing I just hope my siblings don’t see me like this.

Thank you everyone who feel the way I do knowing parents give so much for you.

A mum ‘s choice is always including her children’s need. Sometimes, their children don’t understand their mother, but the mother always think of their children. That’s a pity.
