in Motivational Stories

Once a fisherman was sitting near seashore, under the shadow of a tree smoking his beedi. Suddenly a rich businessman passing by approached him and enquired as to why he was sitting under a tree smoking and not working. To this the poor fisherman replied that he had caught enough fishes for the day.

Hearing this the rich man got angry and said: Why don’t you catch more fishes instead of sitting in shadow wasting your time?

Fisherman asked: What would I do by catching more fishes?

Businessman: You could catch more fishes, sell them and earn more money, and buy a bigger boat.

Fisherman: What would I do then?

Businessman: You could go fishing in deep waters and catch even more fishes and earn even more money.

Fisherman: What would I do then?

Businessman: You could buy many boats and employ many people to work for you and earn even more money.

Fisherman: What would I do then?

Businessman: You could become a rich businessman like me.

Fisherman: What would I do then?

Businessman: You could then enjoy your life peacefully.

Fisherman: Isn’t that what I am doing now?

Moral – You don’t need to wait for tomorrow to be happy and enjoy your life. You don’t even need to be more rich, more powerful to enjoy life. LIFE is at this moment, enjoy it fully.

As some great men have said “My riches consist not in extent of my possessions but in the fewness of my wants”.

It is true that your are needed to enjoy your life at any time without considering the condition which you have at the moment.

teaching a man how to fish doesn’t necessarily make him a cartel owner….unless he is happy doing it and has a “want to”.
I’d rather be happy on the journey than thinking happiness was found only in possessions and / or large cashflow.

How quickly we forget and tend to assume that one day will get all that we want in life which is only a nightmare. Today is your only day. Yesterday has passed and tomorrow is never assured. Take time to enjoy yourself today with no regrets…

Yes, it’s really nice story.
We have to enjoy life while you are living.
If some one got all the things, but there is no breath what is the meaning of life/person it is.
Enjoy the work what to do.
Do the work with happiness.

Absolutely incredible. This is truth. When you hear the truth, you get it. This story makes perfect sense. Happiness is a choice. You can choose to experience it later, in which case you will develop a mindset of being happy later which will carry on into your retirement life. This leads to neediness for the rest of your life. Or you can be happy now, and not worry about being needy. Great job, I love this post, thank You so much. It was great to read a story of this nature.

Really an amazing and strong story….no doubt in that……………but one point that we should never forget is that althoug you have got everything , all wealth , possesions but then also u should aspire to go to more higher heights together with enjoying your current moments……you should not stop at any point…keep going forward along with enjoying ur current moments….life is a precious gift given by god to any human being…

49 Mir Erfaan October 24, 2011 at 9:47 pm
