Burned Biscuits

When I was a little child, my mom liked to make breakfast food for dinner every now and then. And I remember one night in particular when she had made breakfast after a long, hard day at work.

On that evening so long ago, my mom placed a plate of eggs, sausage and extremely burned biscuits in front of my dad. I remember waiting to see if anyone noticed! Yet all my dad did was reach for his biscuit, smile at my mom and ask me how my day was at school. I don’t remember what I told him that night, but I do remember watching him smear butter and jelly on that biscuit and eat every bite!

When I got up from the table that evening, I remember hearing my mom apologize to my dad for burning the biscuits. And I’ll never forget what he said: “Baby, I love burned biscuits.”

Later that night, I went to kiss Daddy good night and I asked him if he really liked his biscuits burned. He wrapped me in his arms and said, “Your Momma put in a hard day at work today and she’s real tired. And besides – a little burned biscuit never hurt anyone!”

You know, life is full of imperfect things… and imperfect people. I’m not the best housekeeper or cook. What I’ve learned over the years is that learning to accept each other’s faults – and choosing to celebrate each other’s differences – is one of the most important keys to creating a healthy, growing, and lasting relationship. And that’s my prayer for you today!

I have burned the biscuits before in more ways than one, life is certainly full of burned biscuits for all of us. But, thank God above he forgives us of our imperfections and looks as us at beautiful baked biscuits!!!!! So many times how I forget to thank God for forgiving me!! But again today I am reminded to say thank you again for his forgiveness! Hope everyone has a great 2016!!!

Do you all realize it just sounds good in stories, but in real life nothing happen like this, we just mean to ourselves. We don’t care how much work others are doing and how much tired they are.

I love this site! I hope more people get to read stories like this. It makes us realize that life is indeed beautiful and sometimes we’re just too blind to appreciate it. The way we handle things would make a difference. Making things complicated instead of facing it with optimism won’t help at all.

It is wonderful writing. The moral of story shows the “Power of Acceptance”. Most of the problem in life get solve automatically if begun to accept the people, situation and circumstances as they are and then find what better can be possible. But resistance to accept actually drains your energy and then you can not meet the situation with full energy which God has given to all of us. In fact the problem do not come with out solution in life the only this is how we handle it that shows our devotion to the God.

Very very true…. Mariage is about acceptance (to accept out mate as she/he is) and commitment (that not a simple burnt bread would matter)… Have a good day.
