The mother giraffe gives birth standing up, so the first thing that happens to a new-born giraffe is a fall of about two metres.
Still dazed, the baby tries to stand up on its four legs, but its mother behaves very strangely: she gives the baby giraffe a gentle kick which sends it sprawling. It tries to get up and is again knocked down.
This process is repeated several times, until the new-born giraffe is too exhausted to stand. At that point, the mother kicks it again, forcing it to get to its feet. After that, she does not push the baby giraffe over again.
The explanation is simple: in order to survive predators, the first lesson a giraffe must learn is to get to its feet quickly.
The mother’s apparent cruelty finds support in an Arabic proverb: “Sometimes, in order to teach something good, you have to be a little rough.”

Great
The story is extremely good. The first teacher of the child is the mother. It starts from birth and continues to the life. Younger obeys and learns but as the age grows the brain matures and the person pose as if knows everything overlooking the parents teachings.
This is wonderful.
Good it helps the baby to face difficulties bravely.
Wow! Wonderful…
Life is not a fun-fair, it’s a warfare..!
We should apply these things to our dear ones whom we care for their betterment. Thanks.
What a wonderful story! It can give me a good moral lesson… Thanks a million:-)
I used this method to my child who has a down syndrome when he was young. Every time I teach him something I scolded him severely and cried secretly because I pity him.
Now, my child is 24 years old and he knows now how to dress, brush his teeth and other things a normal person can do except that he cannot talk. Although, his mental development is slow, he used to go to special child school. Sometimes, to discipline is hurting but it resulted to self independence.
Meaningful behavior that helps to understand tough times and situations we go through. Thanks.
No strange behavior. Visit our labor wards, similar things happen. A baby is given slaps to initiate crying thus opening up lungs and breathe normally/actively, & also to teach him how to “behave humanly in this cruel earth”.
