Students Tips

Great study tips shared by students for students. If you found a good way to study, please share!!!

“When taking notes, make sure to pay attention to the teacher when he is speaking. Write down what the teacher says if he says it more than once. Make sure that you understand what the subject is about and if not then ask questions. But the practice to getting good grades is R-E-V-I-E-W, that’s right review. Review over text books and notes on a daily basis.”

“Do your homework whether you have to turn it in or not. At first I figured that if I didn’t have to turn it in I wouldn’t do the homework. I got a 46% on my first exam. For the second test, I did all the homework and did several chapter reviews and practice tests. I got a 94% on that exam.”

I personally cannot study in Starbucks, or B&N due to a room full of distractions. Every time the door open, I stop reading and look. Its human nature. I also avoid studying with others. Most of the time, it starts with reviewing flashcards, and ends with gossip about whats going on on PLL. Best method I use is to just review everything, and create your own study guide. Not all professor will be nice enough to have one for you. Quizlet is also GREAT help. They create your study material into digital flashcards, mix-and-match games, and also quizzes. Never study the night before, you’ll be too tired and end up the next day just guessing to get the test over with.

Avoid procrastination ,do things right away and always revise the days work and weeks work on weekends ,this helps reduce pressure and the more you revise the less complicated things look !!!
last minute studies may lead to confusion and cramming which is bad for a career

REVISION is the only key to success. Revise as much as possible before the exam. Revision also helps you to remember for a long time.

Always have a peaceful mind and positive thinking first then ask what your body and mind needs for learning process… I usually read books alone and no one can see me at all.
